In her current role, Rana leads Communities of Practice (CoPs) focused on critical areas including Revenue Cycle Management, AI, and Privacy and Security, AI and Health Data Access and Use. She directs volunteer workgroup projects and comprehensive resource development initiatives that elevate health information standards and champion professional excellence across the industry.
Rana’s impact on the profession is exemplified through her successful administration of a $4.9 million Department of Labor apprenticeship grant, which produced 270+ newly credentialed health information professionals while building a groundbreaking apprenticeship network spanning 145+ employers across 42 states. Through strategic collaboration with national employers, she established completion criteria, oversaw Related Technical Instruction (RTI), and implemented robust performance monitoring systems that prepared apprentices with the essential skills, knowledge, and experience needed to excel in today’s health information environment.
As a strategic leader, Rana bridges industry innovation with practical implementation through policy integration and cross-functional coordination. Her expertise encompasses healthcare trends monitoring, standards development, and strategic workforce planning, enabling organizations to stay ahead of evolving industry demands while building sustainable talent pipelines.
