In conjunction with the new 225 CPT® and 261 new HCPCS codes of 2023 are the evaluation and management (E/M) coding updates/changes/revisions that must be made in clinical documentation as well. This webinar will focus on the new code sections and code guidelines that were developed in 2021 and 2023 for the office, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

The overhaul of E/M guidelines from 1995 and 1997 is tremendous. Since clinical documentation must support these guidelines, it is equally an important element to discuss with EHR/EMR vendors to ensure electronic medical records are in compliance with the new documentation standards.

Healthcare reimbursement centers around valid and current CPT® codes and coordinating clinical documentation. Year after year, it is imperative that business of healthcare professionals understand the myriad of new codes, especially as pertinent to their specialties and provider practices. Moreover, it is the clinical documentation that must support these codes and ensure the medical necessity for the services rendered is appropriately documented.

Sonal wants coding, auditing, and compliance professionals to be aware of what clinical documentation must reflect in 2023 and beyond.
